LIVING and RAW FOOD
I know from personal experience that my body is a reflection of what I eat, drink and the environment I chose to live in.
By changing my food choices and eating a balanced diet which is approximately 80% raw and living foods, I (and others) see that it has:
Chosen well, living and raw food can be very alkalising for the body. An alkaline body is a healthy body, yet so many factors in our daily lives these days create an acid environment in our body, so choosing this as a food choice for some or all of the time is a great one for your potential longevity.
Living and raw food generally has more intense flavours as they:
Those who have not tried it often ask the questions:
Will I be hungry as it's salad?
No, as you will see if you try it it’s not always salad and the sprouting of grains, pulses and seeds add substance.
Will the food be cold?
For those who are unaware, living and raw food can be served warm, there is a magic temperature of 42degC when the enzymes are still alive by 47 degC they are all but dead which is when it becomes cooked food !
Can you survive on it in the winter, surely you get cold?
If you are drawn to this choice of diet then trust it. As long as you enjoy it, feel its right for you and have the right balance of veggies, fats, nuts, seeds, grains and pulses and wear the right clothes for the season :-) then you should not be cold.
Personally the first winter I did it I was living in Findhorn, in the Highlands of Scotland and although it felt right, my energy was amazing and I felt great, I lost a lot of weight, but that didn't feel so right. I then realised with the help of someone I trusted that I was just not putting enough fuel into my system to cope with keeping warm (I wasn't feeling cold) so my body utilised my excess body fat to keep warm. I then added more of the good fats found in avo’s, nuts and seeds and sprouting grains and pulses and I returned to having some cheese and port (remember, I am not 100% raw, some days I am others especially when socialising it may only be 75%, and that's ok for me) in the late evening with my ex-partner, the weight lost stopped and so it felt more balanced.
Does it need to be time consuming preparing living and raw food?
Not necessarily, smoothies both vegetable and fruit are not only very quick and easy but also a very good way to get more veggies and fruit into our body, They are very child friendly.
You can prepare enough for a few meals and keep in the fridge for up to three days or freeze it for later use
Do I need any special equipment?
Not really, many people own the tools used. Yes there are things which can make the preparation easier or faster such as a good blender, food processor and dehydrator but they can all be substituted until you feel committed to making this a way of life and so buying new equipment.
I trust you will try and enjoy

I know from personal experience that my body is a reflection of what I eat, drink and the environment I chose to live in.
By changing my food choices and eating a balanced diet which is approximately 80% raw and living foods, I (and others) see that it has:
- Improved my health
- Increased my energy levels and vitality
- Affected my body shape (I dropped two dress sizes and I ate more than ever before)
- Raised my sensitivity and mental clarity
- Improved my muscle and skin tone
- Given me a sense of inner cleanliness, brighter eyes and skin
- Connected me in a deeper way to my being... body, mind and soul
- Instilled a sense of balance and well being

Living and raw food generally has more intense flavours as they:
- have not been lost to cooking
- are not filled out with fillers of flour, processed sugars and fats
- they are vibrant and alive not dead foods
